City Building Safety taking donations as part of statewide food drive

City of Yuma permit techs from the Department of Community Development are joining in a statewide food drive and are asking for your help.

Throughout the month of May – which is Building Safety Awareness Month – permit techs from across Yuma County have been challenged in a pound-for-pound competition to help “NAIL” hunger, with NAIL standing for No Area Is Left (hungry).

Among Yuma County agencies, the winners will take possession of “the coveted Golden Hammer Award and bragging rights for an entire year.”

The City of Yuma’s Building Safety division will be working to stock the shelves of the Yuma Community Food Bank. Please drop off nonperishable food item donations this month to the Community Development office on the second floor of City Hall, just up the stairwell from the historic Endurance Flight exhibit.

City Hall is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. every other Friday.
