The Yuma Art Center will host the tenth installment of the award-winning ARTbeat, a fine art exhibit and sale, 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 22, on Yuma’s historic Main Street.
ARTbeat is a free event for families and art lovers, featuring an eclectic mixture of recognized and emerging local, regional, and international artists in a variety of artistic mediums and styles. Held outdoors, ARTbeat is a juried art show, with original works for sale.
The street will be covered with the works of local artists that include sculpture, paintings, jewelry, prints, glass, ceramics, photography, mixed media and more.
Awards will be presented for Best In Show, Best Presentation, Rising Star, and People’s Choice. Artists from the western region including California, Arizona, and Mexico will be represented.
“Now in its 10th year, we are gearing up for an extra special ARTbeat,” noted Arts and Culture Program Manager Lindsay Benacka. “We are introducing a new award this year, People’s Choice, where we are inviting patrons and attendees to vote for their favorite booth. Be sure to stop by the Yuma Art Center galleries to cast a vote and get a birthday cupcake and party hat to help us celebrate a decade of fine arts in Yuma.”
ARTbeat will also have some surprises in store, including living statues, an awards parade, and fun photo stand in displays, Benacka said.
