Did You Know?

  • Vehicle theft is listed as the nation’s number one property crime, costing an estimated $7.6 billion each year.
  • Stolen vehicles often end up in the hands of organized criminals.  From there they are sold for parts, used for smuggling drugs and people, sold to unsuspecting buyers, shipped overseas to be sold on the black market and even used for car bombs.

Vehicle Theft Is Not Just Another Property Crime!

  • Car owners pay an average of $300 more per year for insurance due to auto theft rates.  This is regardless if your vehicle is stolen. We all pay the price!
  • A vehicle is stolen approximately every 10 minutes in the State of Arizona
    • Yuma was ranked #26 in the nation per capita for auto theft by the National Insurance Crime Bureau for 2007
    • Major cities within hours of ours were ranked in the top 10

Remember... thieves don’t have jurisdictions!
