8/20/2009The City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) defines many projects that will be required in both the near-term and the long term to provide the services required for our citizens. The CIP not only specifies the project definitions, but also their expected budgets and schedules. Some of these projects are relatively minor and others are of major public interest. This web page provides links to those ongoing projects that are of major public interest. Each link provides a brief project description and up-to-date concept design information, schedule information and cost estimates, as well as information on how to contact the City's associated project managers. The projects are listed by type.
At times, there may be major projects being conducted by the Arizona Department of Transportation, Yuma County or other agencies, rather than by the City of Yuma, that are of significant interest to the citizens of Yuma. Some of the links below may take you to their sites.
Roadway and Drainage Projects
Please note that the following links will take you away from the City's web site to those of the consultants or contractors who are responsible for the work. These external web sites are not part of the City of Yuma official web site.
- 4th Avenue Widening - This project will widen 4th Avenue from four to six through lanes from 14th Street to 17th Street and is part of the widening of 16th Street from Arizona Avenue to 6th Avenue.
- 12th Street Project - This project will extend 12th Street from Avenue A to Avenue B including a new bridge crossing over the East Main Canal. The new roadway will include one lane of travel in each direction with a raised landscaped median and bike lanes with connection to the East Main Canal multi-use path system.
