The Utility Rates Department is your one place for information which you will need in order to obtain water utility rates and permits for your residential or commercial project. The department’s goal is to provide the customer with all things needed to obtain a utility permit for their project as it pertains to water and sewer.

Residential Properties

The process begins for a residential property by stopping by City of Yuma City Hall at One City Plaza on the second floor and asking to speak with a utility rates staff member or by calling us at (928) 373- 5000 extension 3046. The types of information needed from the customer will be name of property owner, street address, subdivision, parcel number or any information which will help us better serve your needs. Upon review of information given by the customer the utility department staff will be able to provide data concerning  water/sewer availability, location, costs for service, costs for domestic and irrigation meters and fees for water usage and water discharge and the permits needed.

Commercial Properties

Commercial property under construction.Your project as a commercial property begins after you have been to your Pre-Development Meeting where a member of the utility rates staff was present and had given comments concerning your project and plans are submitted. The plans are reviewed by the utility rates staff to determine what type of service is needed. For example the size of the service lines to your project, water meters, whether they will be domestic or irrigation and evaluation of the water usage and water discharge. Based on these reviews estimates will be prepared which outline the fees, sizes and allowable usage of the water utilities.

The Utilities Management Evaluation form is to be completed by all commercial and industrial developments and triplex or larger multi-unit residential developments.
