The City of Yuma adopted a City Code that outlines ordinances to fight blight and public nuisances to make the community a peacful and pleasant place to live. In Neighborhood Services, code enforcement is used to improve the appearance and create a suitable living environment for residents of designated revitalization areas. After the completion of a revitalization strategy plan it is used to maintain revitalization areas after the City has invested resources to improve the quality of life and economic conditions for the residents. Currently Neighborhood Services is working in the Carver Park and Yuma High Neighborhoods.

Code enforcement is also done by other departments, however it is done on a complaint basis. In Neighborhood Services, code enforcement in strategic areas is done proactively. Although citizen complaints are always acted upon, the Code Enforcement Specialist actively patrols designated neighborhoods looking for code violations.

If you have any questions regarding code violation issues or how to report a violation in the Carver Park or Yuma High Neighborhoods, contact Carlos Ochoa at (928) 373-5000 ext. #3055 or (928) 210-8516 or send Carlos an e-mail

For reporting outside our targeted revitalization area you may contact:

  • Kerry Beecher, Code Enforcement Specialist- 928-373-5162
  • Don Perry, Code Compliance Specialist, 928-373-4630
