Councilmember Leslie McClendon was elected to her second term on the Yuma City Council in the August, 2011 Primary Election.
Councilmember McClendon was born and raised in Yuma Arizona, where she graduated from Yuma High School and attended Arizona Western College. Currently and for more than 28 years, Councilmember McClendon has been employed in the travel industry.
Remaining very involved in the community, Councilmember McClendon is a member of the Fort Yuma Rotary Club, the Yuma Library Foundation, the Yuma Visitor and Tourism Board, and the Amberly’s Place Board. She also prides herself on her many years of involvement with Yuma area youth organizations and for working to re-establish a gang resistance educational program back in the local school system.
Councilmember McClendon and her husband Bobby are the proud parents and grandparents to four children and five grandchildren.
