Welcome to the Office of the City Administrator and thank you for inquiring about your city government.

The City Administrator oversees the efficient and effective operation of the city organization and its 1,000-plus staff. Additionally, the City Administrator insures that the annual budget of over $140 million and projects budget of over $250 million is expended wisely and judiciously.

The City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the city organization and is appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve in that capacity. As chief administrative officer, he is charged with everything the city does for the citizens of this community. All employees serve under the direction of the City Administrator and implement the policies and positions adopted by the City Council.

City Administration encompasses several divisions:

  • The Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs manages all radio, television and print media communications with the community, including all programming on Yuma cable television channels 72 and 73. This division provides an important role in sharing information in times of emergency, in areas of public interest and general city knowledge.
  • The Heritage Area division provides direction, support and grantsmanship for the expenditure of all state, federal and local funds used to develop the West and East Wetlands, riverfront development and Main Street. Their purpose is to insure reinvestment in the original town site and preserve our overall heritage.
  • The City Clerk division also reports to the City Administrator with the management and storage of all official records of the City of Yuma. The City Clerk conducts all elections of the City.
  • Finally, the City Administrator is involved in the Economic Development activities of the city and coordinates via private contract with the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation for the attraction of new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses to Yuma.
