Parks & Ramadas

The City of Yuma has many parks for citizens to enjoy free of charge.  These parks feature such amenities as playgrounds, BBQ's, ramadas, benches, tables, water features and walking paths.

Ramadas

Ramada de la Tortuga sign.Ramadas are available to the public on both a ramada reservation system and on a first-come, first served basis when not otherwise reserved.

Ramada Reservations

Ramada reservations are only issued by the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department. Individuals wishing to make a reservation may either walk-in and make a reservation or phone-in a reservation using a credit card. Ramadas can be reserved up to one year in advance.  A nominal fee is charged and reservations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Pools & Water Features

Water feature at Valley Aquatic Center.The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department operates and maintains four public swimming pool facilities and two water features for citizen enjoyment. Entry fees for open swim at each pool vary.

Open Swim

The hours of operation of open swim at each of the City's municipal pools are as follows:

  • Valley Aquatic Center - 4381 W. 18th St.
    Tuesday through Friday, 1 to 7:45 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 7:45 p.m.
  • Kennedy Pool - Kennedy Lane and 23rd Street
    Tuesday through Friday, 1 to 3:45 p.m. and 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 7:45 p.m.
  • Marcus Pool - 5th Street and 5th Avenue
    Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 2 p.m.

$ave Money with a Season Pool Pass

Water slide at Kennedy Pool.Frequent City pool visitors can save some money by purchasing a summer pool pass from the Parks & Recreation office located in City Hall.

Monthly Passes: Passes are only valid for one calendar month.

  • Youth: $46; $28 with City resident credit
  • Adult: $62; $46 with City resident credit
  • Family: $87; $58 with City resident credit
    ($5 for each additional family member)

Season Passes: Passes are valid from June 5 through Sept. 5 and are accepted at all City pools.

  • Youth: $80; $53 with City resident credit
  • Adult: $122; $81 with City resident credit
  • Family: $192; $128 with City resident credit
    ($5 for each additional family member)

Rent a Pool for Your Summer Party

Valley Aquatic Center, Carver, Kennedy and Marcus Pools are all available for rentals throughout the summer. The Valley Aquatic Center even has its own party room named "The Aquarium," with an ocean-themed décor.  For information about rates and availability, please contact the Parks & Recreation office.
