Helping out a customer. The role of Parks and Recreation Administration is to provide guidance and oversight to four department divisions: Parks/Golf Courses, Recreation, Arts and Culture, and the Yuma Civic Center. The Administration office located at Yuma City Hall handles the business functions for program registration, park/athletic field rentals, ramada rentals, vendor permits and serves as a box office for performances held at the Yuma Art Center, Historic Yuma Theatre and the Yuma Civic Center. This office is the source for information and communication for Parks and Recreation programs and projects. Community outreach occurs through media releases, newsletters, radio/television appearances, speaking engagements, flyers, three video information screens located at City Hall, Desert Hills Golf Course, Yuma Art Center and the Yuma Civic Center along with Activity Guides that are published twice each year. The goal of Administration is to develop fair and consistent policies to ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the community's Parks and Recreation system. The Parks and Recreation Director and staff works with City Administration, Yuma City Council boards and public commissions and the public to determine needs for future Parks and Recreation facilities and programs.
