The City of Yuma strives to create a professional resource for long-term organizational learning. We work to align the daily activities of employees with the City’s strategic direction and core values of communication, accessibility, commitment and innovation. To increase the capacity of all employees and the City organization for providing quality services and meeting growing demands, activities are designed to engage staff in developing the internal capacity to succeed in conducting business in their chosen field of work. Areas of training to improve performance, skills, or knowledge with the organization include:

We strive to integrate contemporary collaboration, communication, teamwork, leadership and management practices throughout the organization and to provide learning opportunities which encourage employee recruitment and retention.

We apply adult learning theory in all curriculums, placing an emphasis on learning, not training and work to maximize learning through cooperation and coordination of all departments.
