The Purchasing Division is dedicated to promoting the city's values of Communication, Accessibility, Commitment and Innovation. Purchasing adheres to the ethics set forth by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, the Institute for Supply Management and the City of Yuma.

Our goal is to ensure that the goods and services procured through the Purchasing Division demonstrate sound fiscal management of public funds for Yuma taxpayers while meeting the needs of our customers. We endeavor to bring about fair, open, competitive bidding practices and best value; and we encourage all qualified vendors to participate in our solicitation opportunities.

 

Achievement in Excellence Award

National Purchasing Institute Achievement in Excellence in Procurement Award

The City's Purchasing and Contracts Division has earned the 2008 "Achievement in Excellence in Procurement Award" from the National Purchasing Institute. This award, which measures innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership, is sponsored by several national professional associations including The Institute of Supply Management (ISM), The National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP), California Association of Public Purchasing officers (CAPPO), among others.
